Shelmith Mwangi is the 2025/2026 President of the Actuarial Students’ Society of Kenya (ASSK) and a passionate actuarial science student at Daystar University. With a strong love for numbers, especially in taxation and statistics, Shelmith combines technical brilliance with bold, people-centered leadership.
Her leadership journey began at the Kenya School of Revenue and Administration (KESRA), where she served a Class Representative. She later became Secretary General of the Daystar University Actuarial Students Association (DUASA), and went on to serve as Deputy Organizing Secretary of ASSK before being appointed President. In every role, she’s championed student voices, organized impactful initiatives, and worked to create meaningful opportunities for actuarial students.
Outside the world of data and deadlines, Shelmith is an artistic baker known for her stunning cakes. She thrives on good vibes, connecting with people, and learning through conversations and shared experiences. As ASSK President, she’s on a mission to make the actuarial space more engaging, inclusive, and empowering where students don’t just study the future, but shape it.
