I am a fourth year student at Meru University of Technology pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Actuarial science. I was appointed to serve at the Actuarial Students’ Society of Kenya as the deputy organizing secretary, having previously served as my university’s campus representative to ASSK and TASK.
As I serve in this position, I am much aware that being a leader is not about control but it is more about inspiration, coaching, facilitation and empowerment of the people under me. This post gives me yet another opportunity to be at the core in organizing and coordinating national events in line with the society’s vision and objectives.
I look forward to working closely with fellow executive members to increase actuarial awareness in the country through organizing well-coordinated and consistent internal and external events.
